We are returning to the Lincoln Memorial for the March on Washington: Defend the Vote in Washington, D.C. on Friday, August 28th. We are gathering not to remember history, but to shape the future together.
Co-chaired by Rev. Al Sharpton, Martin Luther King III, and Arndrea Waters King, this mobilization is a Black led, interfaith, inter-generational coalition rooted in the belief that our collective voting rights, equal opportunities, affordability, and economic dignity are worth showing up for.
We are returning to Washington because of the immediate rollbacks across the country. This gathering is our collective response to:
Organizing for true civic equity, ensuring equal ballot access, and expanding community-led voter education across every generation.
Constructing a future where fair wages, equal opportunity, and sustainable livelihoods are recognized as foundational civil rights.
Ensuring every community has direct, unimpeded access to life's essentials: safe housing, reliable healthcare, and nourishing food.
To ensure our gathering is safe, accessible, and welcoming for everyone, from our youth organizers to our veteran elders, understanding our numbers helps us take care of one another on the ground.
Whether you are traveling as an individual, carpooling, or coordinating a charter bus, please take a moment to share your travel plans on our central network tracker. If you have neighbors or elders who do not use the internet, sitting with them to add their names ensures everyone is included.
Because this movement unfolds in real time, schedules, logistics, and accessibility updates will be added to marchonwashington2026.com as they are finalized. Checking back often helps keep local networks informed.
A room block has been secured for attendees. Rooms are limited and available on a first come, first served basis. Reserve your lodging directly through our online booking link.
If your chapter is engaging with local media, hosting press conferences, or sharing public remarks in your area, please connect with Rev. DeVes Toon so we can link you directly with the MOW Communications Team for support.
A social media toolkit is forthcoming. If you post prior, please tag National Action Network on social media.
To help keep our collective message unified and clear across the country, the shared framework is available for your review in General Talking Points.
